Across the United States, nurses are being called to the frontlines of hospitals to fight against COVID-19. Armed with personal protective equipment like gloves, gowns, face shields, and N-95 respirator masks, and tasked with the duties of taking vitals, administering medications, feeding patients, and communicating with families, nurses all over the USA are being recognized as American heroes.

Whether you realize it or not, there are many different types of nurses. Some of the most common types of nurses are registered nurses or nurse RNs, licensed practical nurses (LPN), nurse practitioners, and certified nurse assistants (CNA). There are also different levels of nursing that require different degrees, the most common being a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). While a nurse’s typical roles and responsibilities are noble nonetheless, COVID-19 is asking nurses to give it their all. Many nurses are risking their own personal health, making sacrifices for their families, and stepping out of their comfort zones to fill other roles in hospitals and save lives.

At the end of the day, nurses deserve to be recognized for their work. Luckily, there are many ways you can show your support for nurses in your community and across the United States.

How To Support Nurses

Although nurses week has passed, it’s important that we celebrate and support nurses every week. I’m sure you have a family member, friend, or neighbor who is a nurse. If not, it’s easy to support nurses in your community and around the country.

One of the easiest ways to support local nurses is by staying home and washing your hands. While it can be hard to break out of your daily routine and spend more time inside, taking precautions and staying inside can significantly reduce the spread of COVID-19. Of course, you should still go outside and get some fresh air, just make sure to abide by social distancing rules and the laws of your state. When you do visit congested areas like the grocery store or gas station, make sure to wash your hands before and after touching things so that germs won’t spread.

Another way to show your support for nurses is by donating supplies to local hospitals. If you have actual supplies like gloves, surgical masks, hand sanitizer, or scrubs, send it over to a hospital because supplies are starting to become scarce.

During this time, it’s also important that nurses are supported mentally, as well as physically. At Big Moods, mental health awareness is one of the most important values of our organization. A portion of each sticker profit is donated to ActiveMinds.org to support mental health education, research, advocacy, and treatment. Just as mental health awareness is important to our organization, it’s also important to nurses. Because nurses are being faced with life or death situations and extreme stress, many first responders are seeing the effects of stress and anxiety first hand. If you know a nurse on a personal level, reach out to them and ask how they are doing. Give them the support they need, and let them know that you are there for them. If you don’t know a nurse, spread your love to local nursing units and let those nurses know how much you appreciate them and their work.

If you’re feeling particularly generous, you can also purchase nurse gifts. People across the United States are sending take out and homemade meals to local nurse units, donating on GoFundMe pages to support nurses, and creating colorful thank you cards to brighten nurses’ days. A meaningful and inexpensive way to show your support for nurses is by gifting them nurse stickers from Big Moods!

Nurse Stickers

Nurse stickers are the perfect way to recognize and show your support for healthcare heroes. There is a wide variety of decal and sticker options, and they can be purchased in packs or individually. Some of the most popular nurse stickers are the nurse life sticker, stethoscope sticker, caduceus stickers, future nurse sticker, and face mask sticker. You can celebrate a local nurse unit by gifting any of these options, or pick out the superhero nurse sticker that looks most like your favorite nurse. If it’s too hard for you to pick one favorite, get the healthcare heroes pack, and give a sticker to each of super nurses you look up to.

If you’d like to show your support for nurses with your own stickers, take a look at the social distance sticker pack which features the wash your hands sticker, social distancing saves lives sticker, and I want you to social distance sticker. Make sure to get these stickers while you can and while they’re on sale! All nurse and medical-themed stickers are 20% off and if you buy five or more stickers, you can get an additional 20% off! This discount will be applied at checkout.

How To Show Off Your Nurse Stickers

Whether you’re a nurse or nurse supporter, there are many ways you can display your new stickers and decals! Because Big Moods’ princess cut vinyl stickers are waterproof, they can be placed on nearly any surface.

If you’re a nurse, you can show off your stickers while you’re on duty by placing them on your yeti, tumbler, or water bottle. You can also put them on your computer or kart for people to see when they pass by your station. Nothing says proud nurse more than a nurse sticker on display for everyone to see!

Nurses and nurse supporters alike can also use their decals as bumper stickers, or put them on folders, laptop sleeves, or phone cases. But at the end of the day, it doesn’t matter where you choose to put your stickers. What’s more important is that you show your support for nurses and other healthcare heroes!

Conclusion

It’s more important now than ever before that nurses are honored for their work. But we must make sure to honor other healthcare workers and first responders too. Because of first responders, more people are staying safe and healthy, and more lives are being saved. Make sure to celebrate these individuals with a sticker pack to honor their hard work and dedication!
